Shaolin Martial Arts Association of Russia (SMAA.R)

(state registration ¹6033) is a non-commercial organization set up for learning Shaolin tradition both a Chinese Shaolinchuan and Japanese (……………campo) versions.

SMAA.R is a national department of International Martial Arts Federation, joining more 30 countries and several hundreds regional subdivisions. The President of Honour of SMAA.R is major monk of Shaolin monastery Susi and Reverend Dechan.

The President of SMAA.R is a professor Alexey Maslov and Eugeny Chertovskikh is a general secretary.

The main principle of SMAA.R is keeping triune: to bring up in harmony spiritual intellectual and physical basis in a human being.

The main aim is to pass true shaolin tradition with its whole diversity. Secrets of martial arts, traditional east medicine and self-upbringing. We only learn traditional types of wushu and we aren’t interested in sportive wushu, its modern variations.
Wushu isn’t a kind of sports for us: it’s a doctorine, no gymnastics but the way of upbringing.

SMAA.R is one of the member-founders of the Combat Association of Russia, joining all biggest combat organizations in our country. Today our traditions are all over Russia. Age of people practicing wushu in our clubs and groups is from 6 up to 60 years old.

What do we learn?
We learn martial arts, traditional east medicine come from Shaolin, calligraphy, psycho practice methods, and (“internal energy”, respiratory and meditation techniques)

A base programme o Shaolinchuan (Shaolin style) includes about four tens of sets with or without arms. A fundamental programme proposes learning about a hundred sets and thousands different techniques.

Alexey Maslov is a President of SMAA.R was born in 1964. His parents worked as doctors in China, where Maslov could learn wushu (kungfu). He has got Master Shaolinchuan degree, on the best specialists on single combat in the world according to IKFF’s classification; kungfu VIII up to IKFF’s standard, is the one of the a dedicated novice in Shaolin monastery.

Well-known orientalist A. Maslov is a Professor, Doctor of History, head of a World History chair in Russian State “Friendship of Peoples”, an invited professor of Heidelberg University of China Studies (Germany), Sorbone University (France); leiden University (Netherlands), Ionic University (Greece); Peking University (China); an academician of New York Academy of Science, a member of European Association of Sinologues a member of EC commission on Chinese people beyond the boundaries, an author of many books and scientific articles on history, theory and methodology of Chinese martial arts, on history of Chinese and Japan philosophy and religion.

A. Maslov is a general secretary of the International Martial Arts Kungfu Federation, the IMAF (IKFF), a president of Moscow General Martial Wushu Federation , plenipotentiary of IKFF in Russia, a wushu/kungfu referee of international category (IKFF).

Eugeny Chertovskikh was born in 1956, graduated Higher Air Descent Commander School in Riazan, was in the Army for 22 years, took part in hasticities in Afganistan. He was rewarded with the Order of the Red Star, the order For Service to Motherland in Armed Force by degree 3.

E. Chertovskikh is a vice president of International Martial Arts/Kung-fu Federation. Inc (IMAF/IKFF), Russian Departament; a general secretary of SMAA.R, a general secretary of Moscow General Traditional Wushu Federation – “ “.

He has got degree 6 on shalinchuan, he is prizeman in World Championship in 1994, a chief of Russian teams, which won prizes in 1994 in (China), in Chan in 1994 (China), in Ipo in Malasya in 1998.
